The inspiration for this smoothie came from a conversation I had on Twitter in which the other person told me they’ve been using lots of pineapple in their smoothies lately due to it being in season. Where I live pineapples are never in season, but featuring them in my smoothie is kind of like a quick trip to the tropics :)

If you’ve browsed the internet in the past couple of years you’ve most likely seen ads for the miracle weight loss acai berry diet. This is just another fad diet in a long line of fad diets. However, acai berries are a legitimate superfood that pack a huge nutritional punch and are an excellent smoothie ingredient.


I have to be honest, raspberries are my favorite food. The field behind my house growing up was full of raspberry bushes that I harvested until my little fingers were stained red. Naturally, raspberries are one of my favorite smoothie ingredients.
