Chocolate Almond Avocado Smoothie

Chocolate Almond Avocado SmoothieThis is what I call a “thickie”. It’s so dense you may need to eat with a spoon…right from your blender.

Rich, creamy, chocolaty, nutritious – what else can you ask for?

Avocados are one of the most popular ingredients in the smoothie recipes on my site. Nothing else brings the same thickness and creaminess. They also pair well with many other ingredients and offer a nice array of health benefits, which include:

Blood Orange Kefir Smoothie

Blood Orange Kefir SmoothieThis is one decidedly delicious smoothie that’s super easy to make with only two ingredients.

It’s my version of an Orange Julius.

When blood oranges are in season I load up and enjoy a fair amount of them blended into smoothies. I find their crimson, almost blood colored flesh both beautiful and mouth-watering.

Ginger Strawberry Kombucha Smoothie

Ginger Strawberry Kombucha SmoothieKombucha has become my fermented beverage of choice lately. I make my own because it’s easy and affordable.

A few weeks ago my brother had me try GT’s Kombucha Gingerade – oh my was it tasty! The ginger flavor was over the top delicious. My regular old kombucha didn’t seem so special after all ;)

In order to capture that ginger goodness I double fermented my next kombucha brew with fresh ginger. It wasn’t quite as gingery as GT’s, but very good nevertheless.
